Africa is the Land of Shem: Speech at Shiloh in the Land of Canaan

Welcome to BibleStudyMinistry.com, your online Bible Study Supplement Source. This series is titled Africa is the Land of Shem. The title is based on the scripture found in Genesis chapter 9, verse 27. It states that Japheth or Yafeti will be enlarged and dwell in the tents or lands of Shem.

The lands given to Shem after the flood was the entire continent called Africa today. Hence the name of this project, Africa the Land of Shem. We’re in the writings of Joshua. And yes, we understand this information can be a lot to take in if you are new. But praise the Almighty if He has led you to this revelation, as He did with us, because the time is near.

Paul or another author wrote to the Hebrews or Bantus that when the time they should to be teachers, they have need that one teach them again with the first principles of the oracles of the Creator. The Bantus in that day and today became and have become like those who have need of milk, and not strong meat.

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Anyone still teaching modern-day Christianity and entry-level Bible lessons is using milk and is not skillful in the Word of Righteousness. This is the case because they are babies. No offense to anyone, but sometimes offenses are truths aimed to wake up a soul. However, strong meat belongs to those who are of full age. It belongs to those who have their senses exercised enough to discern both good and evil (Hebrew 5:12-14). So with that…

Try to Understand This!

We concluded the previous post in Joshua chapter 19, verses 49 through 51. The children of Akobe inherited much of the land in sub-Saharan Africa, which is the land of Israel in the Bible. Although they took over the lands in sub-Saharan Africa, many of the Canaanites and other nations still live within those areas. It’s just that from the time of Joshua and the children of Akobe, as they took the lands, the lands were predominantly controlled by the children of Akobe. All of this is in the land of Canaan, south of Egypt and Kush, what we would call sub-Saharan Africa today.

Let’s continue the story. We are still in the book of Joshua, chapter 21.

Joshua 21:1-2,43-45

Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Akobe; [2] And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The Great Spirit commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.

[43] And the Great Spirit gave unto Akobe all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. [44] And the Great Spirit gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the Great Spirit delivered all their enemies into their hand. [45] There failed not ought of any good thing which the Great Spirit had spoken unto the house of Akobe; all came to pass.

The tribes Reuben, Gad, and half Manasse also took their lands.

Joshua 22:1-4 KJV

Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasse, [2] And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the Great Spirit commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you: [3] Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Great Spirit your Almighty. [4] And now the Great Spirit your Mighty One hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Great Spirit gave you on the other side Jordan.

Before the passing of Joshua, he gathered all the children of Akobe in Shechem, Shechem is in modern day Namibia.

Joshua 24:1

And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Akobe to Shechem, and called for the elders of Akobe, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; they presented themselves before the Great Creator.

Here’s a quick history lesson and recap:

Joshua 24:2-6 – Joshua Addressing the People

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the Great Spirit the Almighty of Akobe, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Tera, the father of Abram, and the father of Naor: and they served other gods. [3] And I took your father Abram from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaaka.

[4] And I gave unto Isaaka Akobe and Esawa: and I gave unto Esawa mount Seir, to possess it; but Akobe and his children went down into Egypt. [5] I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did among them: afterward I brought you out. [6] And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.

The Great Creator is behind all of this!

Joshua 24:8,11-13

And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you. [11] And ye went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; I delivered them into your hand.

[12] And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow. [13] And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.

Joshua 24:14-28

Now therefore fear the Great Spirit, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Great Spirit. [15] And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Great Spirit, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Great Spirit.

The People Reply to Joshua:

[16] And the people answered and said, the Creator forbid that we should forsake the Great Spirit, to serve other gods; [17] For the Great Spirit our Mighty One, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: [18] And the Great Spirit drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the Great Spirit; for he is our Mighty One.

Joshua Answers the People:

[19] Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Great Spirit : for he is an holy Mighty One; he is a jealous Mighty One; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. [20] If ye forsake the Great Spirit, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

The People Reply to Joshua Again:

[21] And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the Great Spirit.

Joshua Finishes His Speech

[22] And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the Great Spirit, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

[23] Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the Great Spirit the Mighty One of Akobe.

The People Agree to Serve SoNiNi NaNiNi the Almighty

[24] And the people said unto Joshua, The Great Spirit our Mighty One will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

Joshua Seals the Covenant

[25] So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. [26] And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of the Great Creator, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the Great Spirit.

[27] Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the Great Spirit which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your Creator. [28] So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.

All in the land of Canaan, south of Egypt!

Shechem

Joshua 24:32

And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Akobe brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Akobe bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.

This is where they finally put the bones of Joseph who was Prime Minister of Egypt. Who else is connected to this land called Shechem?

Genesis 33:18

And Akobe came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-Aram; and pitched his tent before the city.

Ironically, Shechem is the same place that young Joseph went to search for his brothers before they sold him into Egypt.

Genesis 37:12-14 KJV

And his brethren went to feed their father’s flock in Shechem. [13] And Akobe said unto Yosef, Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I. [14] And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.

The days of the Judges took place in Africa!
